India’s left-handed batsman Suresh Raina and his wife Priyanka Raina on May 14 celebrated their daughter Gracia’s first Birthday in a unique way.
The duo decided to dedicate their daughter’s 1st birthday, which fell on Mother’s Day this year, to underprivileged mothers across India and launched the ‘Gracia Raina Foundation (GRF)’.

Under this foundation, underprivileged mothers across the country would be not only be given a mode to attain sustainable livelihood but also given help with regards to physical to mental health issues and beyond.
The GRF would be driven to ensure the well-being of mothers and children while providing them opportunities to build a solid sustainable livelihood.

The foundation will work with mothers to be and their families and provide them with opportunities for sustainable livelihood, so as to empower them.

These women would also be helped to make informed decisions about themselves and their children and their future.

Priyanka’s decision was fully supported by her husband Suresh who added,
“This is a something very personal to me and my wife and to announce it on our daughter’s birthday is very special. My wife has been working towards this and has put in a lot of time and effort and I fully support her endeavors. With this foundation we hope to shed light and help women& babies across the country.”
