Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu is confident that the Indian Railways will provide confirmed tickets to all commuters by 2020.

He said that he is trying his best to improve and better the service of Indian railways.
The railway minister also promised the Railways to become more comfortable in the days to come.
He said the ministry has given approvals to 77 projects that were languishing for a long time.
Moreover, the Railways is looking at ways to increase the average speed of trains in the country.
Most trains in India are said to have an average speed of 130 kmph, while Shatabdi and Gatiman expresses have speeds of around 150 kmph and 160 kmph respectively.
On bullet train, the minister said:
Recently, the ministry commissioned a pilot project between Delhi and Mumbai where Talgo trains are being run to test the feasibility of having semi-high-speed trains. The Talgo trains are expected to bring down the running time between Delhi and Mumbai by 2.5 hours.
Plans are also being worked out to increase the width of passenger bogies by 350 mm which can add one more row of chair to the trains, he added.
