Sunny Leone has been in the news this year a lot. The actress gathered a lot of appreciation when she and her husband, Daniel Weber, announced that they have adopted an Indian girl child. People send numerous wishes and praised the couple for taking such an excellent step.
However, the duo is again in the news for the all the wrong reasons. The two have violated certain child protection laws that can land the couple in legal trouble. As soon as the two adopted the child, they started sharing her pictures. The baby who has now been named Nisha Kaur Weber was given to Sunny by CARA for pre-adoption foster care.
According to DNA,
Central Adoption Resource Authority(CARA) is being accused of having violated the Juvenile Justice Act (JJ Act) by putting out a picture of the girl with ‘unpleasant and objectionable’ statements. While honouring the actress and praising her for adopting a child on Twitter, CARA made offensive comments about the 21-month-old baby.
While praising the adoption by the actress, CARA posted a tweet (now deleted) and wrote,
Without looking at colour, background and health status, Sunny Leone happily took the child in adoption. We respect that they didn’t try to bend the rules and stood in the queue like all the other parents.
CARA has violated the JJ act and it’s the first time a notice is being issued against them. Also, Sunny Leone is in trouble for sharing the pictures of the child while being in the adoption process. A complaint has been filed with the National Commission for Protection of Child’s Rights and Ministry of Child and Women Development. Maneka Gandhi, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development has also asked issued a notice to take action against the officer who has violated the JJ Act.
