If there’s anything Sunny Leone is used to by now, it’s probably the fact that she creates controversy whatever she does. Even though she’s come a long way from her porn days, people usually aren’t so keen to forget about it and move on.
We’ve seen interviewers try to embarrass her on public platforms and politicians blame her appearance in condom ads for rise in rapes.
So Sunny Leone was probably prepared for the reporters who thronged her during a recent calendar launch by Manforce condoms, a brand she endorses. Most Hindi cinema actresses probably wouldn’t be caught anywhere near a condom as long as cameras are around so this was seen as a very bold step by Leone.
When questioned why she chose to endorse condoms, Leone said that condoms were more of a safety commodity.
“It comes down to everyone’s comfort level and personal goals. It made sense to me. For me, it is all about safe sex… Not just India, even in America people are secretive while buying condoms. It is everyone’s personal preference.”
Thankfully, at least one celeb recognizes the need to promote safe sex habits in India!
