In what can be called as one of the largest street art collaborations of India, ‘Suede Gully’, a rap-music and dance video, was released on November 5.
The video collaboration, produced by PUMA to celebrate 50 years of its signature Suede sneakers, features as many as 58 artists, including 8 rappers, 36 dancers, 7 street artists and many more.
Of all the artists, some well-known names are choreographer Mukti Mohan, street artist Shilo Shiv Suleman, rapper Divine from Mumbai and rapper crew Khasi Bloodz from Shillong.
The street anthem has lyrics in four languages – Hindi, Tamil, Punjabi and Khasi – with music directed by Divine and Sneha Khanwalkar.
The amazing choreography owes its credit to Mukti Mohan, Unity One, Beast Mode Crew, Black Ice Crew and Unity Crew. Streets of Delhi, Shillong and Madurai and a bogie of a local train have served as the sets that have spectacular painting by street artists Shilo Shiv Suleman, Anpu, Zake, The Indian Artist, Baadal Nanjudaswamy and a number of others.
The video is an absolutely marvelous work of arts and not all like the ones we have been watching so far.
The pulsating beat, obsessive tune, the perfect multilingual accents and the mash-up of colors in each and every second of ‘Suede Gully’ has taken the internet by storm.
Even if you are someone who doesn’t speak or understand all the four languages, this video is sure to have you captivated. Let this three-and-a-half-minutes video freak you out too. Watch it here:
