There is a real funny story behind it.
Okhil Chandra Sen, who was travelling through railways in 1900, had to miss his train due to a disastrous trip to the lavatory at Ahmedpur station.
After that, he wrote a funny letter to Sahibganj divisional railway office, which is believed to be the reason behind the introduction of toilets in the Indian trains.
Indian Railways didn’t have toilets before that period.
