Time-travelling is a fascinating idea and this has inspired numerous novels and movies. But is time-travelling just an ‘idea’ or there is a scientific possibility that since time is a dimension, time-travelling is technically achievable? Then there is the paradox that if time-travelling in the future is possible, it is already possible.
If time-travelling is already possible, people are already travelling through time and there might be time-travelers right now in the midst of us.
Here are 3 weird stories of people who are believed or have claimed to have traveled through time.
1. The two journalists who witnessed an event 11 years before it actually took place.
Two German newspaper reporters, J. Bernard Hutton and Joachim Brandt, in the year 1932 went to Hamburg shipyard to work on a feature story and interview some people there. Hamburg is a port city in northern Germany. But after they were done with their works and were heading back home, they heard noises of massive engines over them. When they looked up to find what was causing the noises, they found the sky full of warplanes, and a moment later, the planes started dropping bombs around the area leading to a great fire. Brandt, who was a photographer, quickly snapped pictures of the inferno with his camera and the pair escaped from the scene somehow. Later, when the film was developed, they found no sign of any fire in the pictures that Brandt had taken and there was also no report of any attack in the shipyard. The editor accused them of being drunk and abandoned their story too. Hutton eventually left Germany and settled in London just before the Second World War.
Eleven years later after the incident, in 1943, one morning Hutton was reading a newspaper when he saw something familiar. The newspaper had carried a story on Operation Gomorrah carried out by the Royal Air Force (RAF) in which the Hamburg shipyard was successfully raided by the RAF. The photos that accompanied with the news item, Hutton released, showed the shipyard exactly in the same condition that he and Brandt saw a decade ago and it dawned upon him that they had that day seen an event from the future.
2. The man from 2030 who predicts Donald Trump would be reelected as the US President.
In February 2018, a hugely popular Youtube channel called ApexTv posted an interview of one Noah who claimed to be from the year 2030 and had risked his life to travel back in time to warn people of the future events. In the interview, he revealed that present US President Donald Trump will be reelected in the next presidential elections and Martin Luther King Jr.’s 21-year-old granddaughter, Ilana Remikee, will succeed Trump after change in laws about the age of a person to become the president of the country.
He claimed that in the near future Google Glass-style artificial intelligence will overtake the world and it would even become possible to basically design babies and keep them free from diseases but that would be a very costly affair. He said that though he looks like a 25-year-old person, he is actually 50 years old and he take pills to remain young while he travels through time and the more time he experiences the more age he gains so it becomes a necessity.
Among the other predictions he made, he said that humans will set foot on Mars in 2028, Bitcoins will become increasingly popular, and electric cars will run as fast as diesel and petrol cars. He also took a lie detector test and if ApexTv is to be believed, he passed the test.
He said that he has evidences to prove that he indeed is from future but cannot show them because that might cause paradoxes.
3. The woman who appeared and disappeared on a vacant highway.
In the spring of 1988, Strange Magazine carried a story about two persons who on October 20, 1969, were driving along Highway 167. It was a sunny day with clear sky and was about 1:30 pm when they saw ahead of them in the absolutely vacant highway an old modeled car driving very slowly.
Impressed by the car and the mint condition of it, they slowed down their vehicle to have a closer and clearer view of it, but then they noticed that on the car there was a bright orange license plate, and on the plate was written 1940, which was strange or illegal. One of the two men who was on the passenger’s side when tried to look inside the car saw that a young woman, dressed in vintage 1940s style, was driving the car and besides her was a small child who wore equally out-of-fashion clothing.
But then, they noticed that the woman was looking very nervous. She was looking back and in front of her again and again as if she was lost and was on the verge of breaking into a cry. The man on the passenger’s seat shouted if she needed any help, to which she nodded. He asked her to pull over and park her car. She for a while couldn’t understand the hand gestures but eventually got the signal and started to further slow down her car. The two men, meanwhile, also slowed down but their car went past the woman’s car, and when they looked back stopping their car, there was no trace of the old vintage vehicle. It had just disappeared in thin air. Another traveler who was following their car also parked his car, equally baffled, and asked them where the old car had gone, to which they had no clue either. The man wanted to file a complaint with the police but eventually declined thinking his sanity would be questioned if he lodged an FIR.
It is believed that the woman had time traveled from past to 29 years in future and was puzzled at her surroundings.
