1. Cattle Fair/Camel Decoration

The cattle fair is the major attraction at Pushkar Mela. Camels, horses, cows, goats, and sheep are all graced in a colorful tone, ready to be sold and purchased.


Cattle owners from all parts of Rajasthan assemble at Pushkar, forming an eye-catching mob. This historic tradition is visually stunning and will leave you mesmerized.

2.  The Holy dip

Pushkar Mela is celebrated over a period of five days, starting from ‘Kartik ek adashi’ to ‘Kartik Poornima’, the full moon day of Kartik.

It is said that on the full moon day, the Hindu god Brahma performed the sacrifice for the creation of the universe. He threw a lotus flower to select a suitable site for the said ceremony. The flower struck at Pushkar and water opened out and thus, the sacred lake of Pushkar was formed.

Thousands of pilgrims gather here and perform their religious duties.

3. Indian folk and tribal dances
