An intriguing ODI series is going on between India and South Africa cricket teams. Leading the series by 4-1, Indian cricketers are giving their fans every reason to celebrate. Team India failed to perform adequately during the test series against the hosts, but they definitely concluded the series on a great note. And it looks that Indian cricketers started off with ODI series against South Africa with the same zeal.
Team India has already won four ODIs and is leading the series. However, the match India lost to South Africa made the fans witness something unusual. It was the 4th ODI of the six-match series at Johannesburg on February 10 and the hosts were dressed in pink jerseys instead of their usual uniform. It was the seventh time that South African cricket team were dressed in pink jerseys. The last time India became a part of the Pink ODI was in 2003 at the Wanderers Stadium.
With an expectation to achieve an amount greater than Rand 1 million, the organizers sold bracelets designed by sunglass enthusiast David Tlale. During the ODI, the entire South Africa team was seen sporting a bracelet. Talking about the bracelets and its design, Tlale said,

“For the bracelet‚ we selected a weave design which is in line with a lot of current trends in bold colorsAN that will grasp the attention of anyone that sees you wearing it. This then becomes another conversation piece around the cause and raises the funds needed to make a difference.”
The match was a treat to watch. While the team was dressed in pink as a part of the campaign for breast cancer awareness, the spectators were also seen encouraging and supporting them by watching the match wearing pink attire. In order to show their support for breast cancer awareness, people even made the hashtag #PitchUpInPink trend on social media.
The pink attire has always been lucky for the team as whenever they have worn it and played the match, they have never lost one. Something similar happened in the fourth ODI, South African team perfectly defeated Team India.
