The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) banned the sale of meat in Mumbai for four days with regard to the fasting period observed by the Jain community.

Reacting to the same, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor criticised it and labelled it as ‘misogynistic’ on Twitter on Wednesday.

But her tweet left many baffled leading to many trolling her. Though some pointed out that the meat ban cannot be equated to something like ‘misogynistic’, Sonam continued to defend her stand and had heated conversations on Twitter.

Sonam went on to make powerful statements on the stereotypical attitude and mentality of people:

And guess, who came to her support? Chetan Bhagat and Barkha Dutt!

But after a while, Sonam ended the Twitter war, saying she will stick to fashion tweets only.
