India’s most bankable superstar Salman Khan who was convicted in the two-decade-old blackbuck poaching case under Section 9/51 of the Wildlife Protection Act, received bail on March 7 and released from Jodhpur jail. The bail was granted on a surety of Rs 50,000 and the court has set May 7 as the next date of hearing. For the unaware, blackbucks are an endangered species and hunting them is prohibited under this Act.
After his release, a much relieved Salman came out to greet his overjoyed fans at his home – Galaxy Apartments – to thank them for their support and love.
Several Bollywood celebs have expressed their views on the verdict and so has his ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo‘ co-star Sonam Kapoor. The duo worked in this Sooraj Barjatya movie, which was released in 2015.
Sonam Kapoor and Salman have since been friends and also did a hot photoshoot for Harper’s Bazaar in a bridal-oriented theme. Their chemistry was visible even in their sultry pics and Sonam certainly played her part well!
The actress recently came out in support of ‘bhai’ as she was very happy with his release. Sonam, who is quite active on social media (via Twitter/Instagram) was quick to share her relief by sharing a throwback picture of the two of them and standing in solidarity with the actor.
On her Twitter account, Sonam wrote:
You’re the best! Always by your side! pic.twitter.com/40GrtD4afU

For the records, this is the same actress who has earlier raised her voice against illegal hunting, even going to call Donald Trump as ‘an imbecile’.
She was in the news for her tweet on the meat ban in India as well:
Our country is going to remain a 3rd world nation because of the intolerant misogynistic close minded few. https://t.co/JcIDEC3gQE

Sonam, who is a vegan by choice, has earlier talked about treating animals like living beings. This is what she wrote on her Twitter handle last November:
Seeing the ‘hypocrisy’ in her statements, people exhibited their anger. Considering that after all her ‘tweets’ for saving/protecting wild life animals, she has come forward to support a man who has been convicted of killing one of the rarest species in the World!
This hasn’t gone down too well with people. Have a look at their anger/resentment towards Sonam’s double-face:

Meanwhile, Sonam and her family are headed out to Switzerland after applying for a week’s leave, ahead of her marriage with fiance Anand Ahuja. The couple will reportedly tie the knot on May 11 and 12 in Geneva.
