The Aam Adami Party (AAP) MLA, Somnath Bharti, who was denied anticipatory bail by Delhi High Court, has gone into hiding.
Describing Bharti’s behavior as an ’embarrassment’ to the ruling party, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted:
Somnath shud surrender. Why is he running away? Why is he so scared of gng to jail? Now he is becoming embarasment for party n his family(1/2)

Interestingly, Kejriwal’s comment was in sharp contrast to some senior AAP leaders’ earlier contention that Delhi Police were showing uncharacteristic haste in trying to arrest Bharti and that he was yet to exhaust all his legal options.
The former law minister has been accused in an alleged domestic violence and attempted murder case filed by his wife Lipika Mitra.
Bharti has refuted the allegations against him and said Delhi Police were working at the behest of the Prime Minister’s Office to tarnish his image.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police questioned his brother Loknath Bharti and private secretary on Tuesday evening.
Police said ten other people are also likely to be arrested for allegedly harboring the former Delhi law minister.
Also, Delhi police raided Bharti’s residence and his offices, but he was not found at either of the two places. His mobile phone was also found switched off or out of reach.
