HRD Minister Smriti Irani is now at the centre of a full-blown verbal spat with Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi.

Chaturvedi tweeted about Irani getting Z security while she herself was struggling to get a rape and death threat against her investigated.

The Congress spokesperson had claimed that last week she had received an open threat on Twitter of “rape and murder like Nirbhaya”.

Irani retorted by tweeting that she didn’t have Z security.

Chaturvedi responded saying she didn’t know about the internal workings of Home Ministry.

Not taking her jibe on her lightly, Irani quickly retorted by asking this:

This is where things started to go ugly:

With war of words no taking a different turn, Irani took this opportunity to take a dig at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi.

To which Chaturvedi quickly hit back:

Irani did not respond.

Though this twitter war might have taken the turn in a different direction, PTI did report last week that Smriti Irani will be given ‘Z’ category security with armed commandos guarding her in view of increased threat perception to her life.
