Fragrance has a special place in the Awadhi culture of Uttar Pradesh. It is perhaps because of this reason that Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched a special fragrance that emanates the smell of good governance under the Samajwadi Party rule.
The perfume is aptly called “Samajwadi Sugandh” (Socialist Fragrance), and Yadav believes that the smell will keep voters charmed as the state heads to polls early in 2017.
Yadav launched four perfume bottles to mark his four years in power.
The four bottles carry the smell of four different cities – Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra and Kannauj.
Why Kannauj? Because it is the constituency of his wife Dimple Yadav.
Yadav claimed that his government has given the maximum liberal space to the people and has done a comparatively much better job than previous governments.
And he also blew the first bugle that marks the start of hustings; he promised 24-hour electricity supply if he is voted back to power.
