Two young girls have became the new sensation by winning the Silver and Bronze medals in the state level competition of power lifting.
Archana from Raipura and Ritu Chaudhary from Sikar have glorified the name of their district and proved, once again, that determination and hard work surpass all. What students of academy couldn’t do, these two have done. They practiced and learnt techniques all by themselves.
They hail from poor backgrounds, one’s father is a farmer and other’s is a laborer. No matter how bad the circumstances were, their families supported the girls and, today, stand proud of them.
The state- level weight lifting competition was organised in Shrigangapur of Rajasthan where they lifted the heaviest dumbbell and made their way to top.
Archana, the daughter of Banshilal Biloniya, who is a laborer, said that she has been brought up in difficult circumstances where she had three other siblings and only her father was the earning member. In spite of all odds he educated them all and also managed to get necessary sport equipment for her. After college, she used to practice for 2-3 hours daily and work on her body strength. She is happy today as she has gifted her father with a medal but also dreams to represent the country in the near future.
Ritu, the daughter of a farmer named Hava Singh, said that she is the youngest in the family but after winning the medal she feels above all. To achieve greater heights, she will be staying away from the family to prepare for the best.
In a state where girls are seen as a burden, today Archana and Ritu proved themselves, and proved that there is no weight they cannot lift and earn respect. We salute them!
