Until a few years ago, celebrities were not as accessible to the public as much as they are now. All thanks to the social media, people can now reach out to celebrities from all quarters, be it actors, politicians, sportsmen, or any other. And celebrities too can connect with their fans and followers with much ease. But on many occassions, this interaction between celebrities and their followers ends up in celebrities getting trolled, and on a number of occasions, for no mistake. This recently happened with ‘Half Girlfriend’ actress Shraddha Kapoor.
On December 17, Shraddha Kapoor dedicated a post to soldiers of the Indian Army. In the post, she shared a picture in which two soldiers could be seen sleeping in a cover of snow. The picture also had “At Siachen Glacier” written on its top and “Respect & Salute To Indian Army” below it. While sharing the picture, Shraddha also wrote a few heartfelt sentences with it. Have a look at the complete Twitter post below:
They freeze to make sure that we are warm. They protect to make sure that we feel safe. Can never thank you Jawaans enough. pic.twitter.com/z1Df4sw0dA

It looks like a genuine dedication right? But something was wrong with this post that it got Shraddha to face Twitter’s fury over it. Actually, the picture of soldiers in the tweet is not of the Indian Army soldiers and does not even belong to Siachen or any other part of India for that matter.
Actually, the picture was of Russian Army soldiers and not of that of Indian Army. And for this reason, Shraddha had to bear the brunt of tweeple. Have a look at some of the responses on her tweet:
Cc : @SMHoaxSlayer isn’t this is a fake picture for Indian Army? This is Russian army as I know. Verify the fact.

FAKE: the photograph is not of the Indian Army and the place shown in the photo is not Siachen. The original photos are of Russian army soldiers and was first posted in 2013.https://t.co/AEIKRbFG1r @ShubhamTrinamul @KOLLEO @Jayantasengoptu

Although we have utmost respect admiration for our soldiers, this is a fake pic going viral. It is of Russian soldiers.

Some of the commentors even advised them to have respect for Indian soldiers and not insult them. What is to be understood here that Shraddha Kapoor wouldn’t have had the intention to insult the soldiers. What went wrong with her tweet was the picture that turned out to be fake, which she might not have known at the time of sharing it.
Shraddha hasn’t taken down the post yet. It will be interesting to see how the actress reacts to the trolls.
