Supporters of RJD, Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party, the Communists, and the Congress came together at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan for a united rally against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The common cause brought the leaders of the respective parties on the same platform.
A part of the so-called Mahagathbandhan, this anti-BJP front got a major setback when Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar broke his party’s – Janata Dal-United – alliance with RJD and formed a new government with the BJP.

But as crowds swelled at Gandhi Maidan, reports of minor disturbances, too, have started coming in.
According to News 18, shots were fired in the air near the Income Tax crossing at Beli road while supporters were making their way to the rally venue.

The police immediately nabbed the people allegedly responsible for the firing. According to the report, the police found that the gun is a toy used for firecrackers.

But the men using the gun have been held for questioning.
The entire rally is being used as a stage to promote former Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav. He has recently upped the ante against the BJP.

Many are, however, amused with the fact that Lalu Prasad is organizing a rally to “save the country” and Tejashwi is making promises.
