Fast bowlers Shivam Mavi and Avesh Khan, playing for Kolkata Kinght Riders and Delhi Daredevils respectively, are in headlines for all wrong reasons. It looks like because of what they did recently, they are now receiving harsh criticism from everywhere.

The two players were recently caught sending off batsmen with expletives. This happened in two separate incidents during April 27 match between the two teams at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.

Mavi, who was playing quiet well started the evening with a promising performance. The player who later delivered 58 from his four overs in a low key performance ended Delhi’s quick beginnings with a near-yorker to dismiss Colin Munro.

He then went ahead to voice his achievement with a few cuss words at the batsman.

Later in the evening, Avesh gave Andre Russell a good amount of abuse as he was taking an exit, after promisingly sealing the game with the Jamaican’s wicket.

These two different incidents happened a day after  ICC Board sought to clamp down heavily on sledging infringements. “Both Mr. Mavi and Mr. Khan admitted to the Level 1 offence under 2.1.7 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials and accepted the sanctions,” an IPL media release stated.

For Level 1 breaches of the IPL Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding. As such no fines or bans will be levied for a Level 1 offence but it is understood that the IPL will watch the offenders closely, to ensure no further slips of this kind.
