All is not well between alliance partners BJP and Shiv Sena. The two parties have got into ‘poster war’, criticising each other. This comes ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections slated to be held in February 2017.
Shiv Sena’s posters, which went viral on social media, depicted failure of Narendra Modi-led government on many fronts like crime against women, Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan amongst others.
The posters also showed statistics on job creation, petrol prices, unrest on university campuses and challenged government’s claim.
However, Shiv Sena’s public relation wing head said, ” They are not released by Shiv Sena. Shivsainiks seem to have put them up as a reaction to the propaganda being spread on social media by the BJP”.
As expected, BJP tried to outmatch his allied partner and released posters saying ‘I support NaMo’ and criticising Sena president Uddhav Thackeray.
One of the posters has photos of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Congress leader Digvijay Singh, Raut and Uddhav, describing them as ‘birds of a feather’.
However, BJP too hasn’t claimed responsibility for the posters.
It seems that the two will contest BMC polls separately.
