43-year old Shilpa Shetty is known for her fitness, boldness, and popularity in India. She doesn’t shy from speaking her mind, and we saw that in her stint on Celebrity Big Brother 5 (2007), the fifth series of the popular British reality television series Celebrity Big Brother. That’s where Shilpa Shetty’s racial woes started. Unfortunately for Shilpa, it seems that the nightmare is back to haunt her, but this time it’s Qantas airline. The Kundra bahu has recently spoken about racism she faced in Australia. The incident came to light when she posted about it on her Instagram handle.
In a hard-hitting post on social media, Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty shared how she faced racism in Sydney Airport. In her Instagram post, she mentions a ‘grumpy’ ground staff, just like her previous housemate at Celebrity Big Brother – Jade Goody.
Shilpa, a frequent high-class traveler, was traveling from Sydney to Melbourne during the time of the incident. She was carrying an oversized bag as cabin luggage when given the snub.
The fitness and yoga diva is massively popular in India. Certainly, this incident left her fans shocked. However, this Bollywood beauty doesn’t take such things lightly.

Not only an actress but she is a writer too! As a writer, Shilpa surely knows how to articulate her words. She did the same with this alleged racial incident.
Apparently, at the check-in counter, Shilpa encountered a grumpy Mel who had a ‘racial’ tone when addressing Shilpa.
According to Mrs Kundra, the employee behaved difficult as she’s ‘brown’. The 43-year-old lashed out at Qantas airline for the bad behavior and said that ‘tone cannot change with preference to colour.’
Even as the Dhadkan actress did fly to Melbourne on the same flight, it wasn’t before she projected the incident on social media. If the racial approach is, in fact, true, then the concerned person much be acted upon. Read Shilpa’s full post below:

Subject: #Qantas airways @qantas This should get your attention! Travelling from Sydney to Melbourne and at the check in counter met a grumpy #Mel ( that’s her name)who decided it was “OK” to speak curtly to “US” ( Brown people!!) travelling together ,I was flying business and had 2 bags (my allowance)and she insisted and decided my half empty Duffel bag was oversized( to check in!!) So she sent us to check it in at the other counter dealing with “Oversized luggage” ..there a Polite lady(yes this one was) said ..”this ISN’T an oversized bag, pls check this in manually if u can at another counter” ( all this happening while the counter is going to shut in 5 mins) As the manual check in wasn’t going thru for 5 mins( we tried) I went upto #Mel and requested her to put the bag thru as her colleague said it wasn’t an oversized bag.. She refused again.. Just being adamant especially when I told her this is causing a lot of inconvenience .. We had no time to waste so we ran to the oversized baggage counter and requested her to put the bag through which she did after I told her that #Rude #Mel had issues !!!…. to which another colleague joined in an reiterated my duffle wasn’t oversized and could’ve easily been checked in. The point is .. This piece is only for #qantas airlines to know and take cognisance .. that their staff must be taught to be helpful and TONE can’t change with preference to #COLOUR .”WE” are NOT #pushovers and they MUST know that being #callous and #Rude will NOT BE TOLERATED 🙏✋🏼💔. Ps: Please tell me if that bag in the picture is oversized??!! @australia @visitmelbourne @travel #truthmustbetold #bemused #uncalledfor #standup #equality #whatswrongisnotright #instapic #travelwoes #shocking #nightmare #notcool
After Shilpa Shetty’s open bashing, Qantas airline acknowledged her complaint within 24 hours and tweeted a well-deserved apology. Their tweet read:
We're sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience with us today Shilpa. We have passed your feedback on to the relevant team and we hope that you have a great experience with us onboard! Khalid

Great response and initiative by the airline to acknowledge Shilpa’s concerns and hopefully she too, will forget her ordeal soon.
