Team India, the top-ranked side in the ICC Test rankings, pulled off a memorable 63-run win at the Wanderers, but still lost the series following a 2-1 win by the hosts. It was a gruelling Test series but it was South Africa who fared better in the crucial moments. Clearly, Virat Kohli and Co has a lot of work do on their part and Indian fans will certainly hope that he emerges a wiser captain from his first-ever series defeat.
During the series, cricketer Shikhar Dhawan had a disastrous time as an opener. He played only one game and was dismissed for 16 in both the innings. Dhawan’s overseas form with the red ball hasn’t been impressive and for the second Test, he was replaced by KL Rahul. Despite his poor performance, Dhawan is now back in the Indian squad for the ODI series which commences from February 1. The pressure will be on him on how well he can adapt to foreign conditions and deliver.
Despite all this, the cricketer had a good time in South Africa. Through his Instagram account he has been seen posting various pictures with his family.
Recently, he posted this picture in which he can be seen holding his wife Ayesha in his arms:
Soon social media users started commenting on that:
Also, fans have a lot of hope from him in the ODI series:
