As general elections are scheduled to be held in Pakistan on July 25, 2018, the entire country is gearing up to witness the elections of the members of the National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies of Pakistan. Amidst the pre-election violence and controversies, the contestants are in the forefront to present their perspectives during their campaigning. The pendulum is striking between three names for the win – Shehbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto, and Imran Khan. However, the chances of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) party’s President Shehbaz Sharif of becoming the next Prime Minister of the Islamic nation are quite slim.

Nevertheless, according to the political analysts, Shehbaz Sharif can be the ideal choice for the quarters in the case of a hung parliament. Since Shehbaz Sharif plays the cards close to his chest, unlike his elder brother Nawaz Sharif, he has not challenged any state institution in public and has evidently stayed on the right side of the military. But the political leader has said a statement that has sparked some unexpected controversy for him.

Apparently, during his campaigning, the PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif made a declaration that people can change his name if he does not make Pakistan better than its arch-enemy India after coming into power.

While addressing a rally, he said:

“If I do not end load shedding crisis in six months, you can change my name. They (Indians) will come to Wagah Border and call Pakistani’s their master.”

The former Punjab CM also said that he would bring the Islamic nation at par with Turkey and Malaysia. He also added that he would visit Tayyip Erdogan and Mahathir Mohamad to learn from them in order to make Pakistan a great nation again.

As expected, Shehbaz’s statement sent social media into a frenzy and they have reacted with the most side-splitting comments. Most importantly, the Indian Twitterati also reacted with some of the most hilarious comments. From calling him a corrupt man to mocking his thinking, here are some of the best tweets trolling Shehbaz Sharif:

Dream on!

Is it?!

Right to be what?!

What to say!

Dreaming in his own world!

Which type? I also want to know!

Please do the needful!

Surely they will!

Incidentally, Shehbaz is one of the most influential political leaders in Pakistan. A strict administrator who has easily managed high profile projects and province’s bureaucracy, Shehbaz Sharif has delivered his best during his three stints as the Chief Minister of Punjab.
