Although primarily a politician with the Indian National Congress and a former diplomat, Shashi Tharoor is known for his impeccably correct and eloquent English that can put to shame even the royal British. Well, quite so. Who can forget his “farrago of distortions, misinterpretations and outright lies” that was hurled at the Republic TV’s chief Arnab Goswami! The word “farrago” literally sent every Indian back to being buried under heavy dictionaries to find its meaning. And till this date, there has not been anyone to challenge his authority over the Queen’s language.

Most glimpses of Tharoor’s mastery over English is seen on Twitter, when he chooses to comment and present his opinion over a variety of events. In fact, his tweets are regarded as easy and free vocabulary classes by a major chunk of the population. You may love him or hate him but his debates and speeches are things which every Indian looks forward to. And that is quite undeniable.

So, when this supreme authority over English language made a tiny mistake (or typo) on Twitter, some people thought that was indeed a series of new words that needs to be looked up on the dictionary while some other people trolled him well for committing such a typo despite being a master of words.

The buzz started when Tharoor committed a typo on Twitter while presenting his views on the ‘Padmavati’ controversy:

Although Tharoor was swift in pointing out his own mistake and the apologizing for the same, Twitter was not ready to spare him still.

And this is how Twitter responded:

Is this a new word?

We kind of agree, why does THE Tharoor needs the autocorrect on?

Sassy Tharoor? Well!

This guy had some point though:

And this person as well:
