India was defeated by arch-enemy Pakistan. The rival team took the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. It was just a game but people take it personally when it’s between India and Pakistan. When Pakistan won the match, Pakistani fans started taunting Indian players.
Indian player, Mohammad Shami, who just played the warm-up matches during the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, lost his cool when a Pakistani fan started taunting Team India.
The Indian players were returning to the dressing room after the presentation ceremony following their defeat and this Pakistani fan who was making a video started shouting “Baap kon hai?”, “Saari akad chali gayi, Kohli?”, “Kon hai baap?”
Comments like “Baap kaun hai?” by a Pakistani fan left Mohammed Shami fuming. While the other players just ignored him, Mohammad Shami lost his cool. He confronted the fan who was asking the question again and started walking towards him. According to the video uploaded on YouTube, this fan continuously mocked the defeated team and used foul language for them. Former captain, MS Dhoni intervened and asked Shami to ignore the abusive fan and took him to the dressing room.
India lost to Pakistan by 180 runs in the finals. This was the first ever Champions Trophy title for Pakistan. The South Asian nation claimed their third ICC tournament, having earlier won the 50-over World Cup in 1992 and the World Twenty20 in 2009.
