Upendra Singh, ex-henchman of former RJD MP Mohammed Shahabuddin, revealed that instruction for the murder of journalist Rajdev Ranjan came a fortnight back.
Singh was once a shooter for Shahabuddin. The former lawmaker is serving a prison term at Bihar’s Siwan jail for multiple murders and abductions.
Police is now searching for at least three criminals who were allegedly ordered to kill Ranjan. The criminals were recently released from jail.
Sources told TOI that Upendra said one of the criminal had approached him to arrange the logistics for killing Ranjan, but he refused to help.
Earlier, Ranjan’s wife confirmed that he had received threats.
She told NDTV, “He did not tell me the complete thing. We Just want to ask the government to give this case to CBI and they should secure my children’s and my life.”
Ranjan was shot dead on May 13 evening by three unidentified men near Siwan’s railway station.
