According to news reports, Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan is soon going to enter the footballing world and get his own team in the Indian Super League (ISL).
With India’s newly acquired craze for “league football”, reports state that SRK is either going to buy stakes in the ISL franchise or the I-league franchise.
But, with ISL and I-League likely to merge soon, it now seems King Khan is not only going to cash in on the opportunity but buy a huge stake in one of India’s oldest clubs – “Mohun Bagan”.
Reports state that SRK will buy 30% stake in the “Mohun Bagan” franchise which is currently part of the I-League’s top tire and that this buyout will likely happen by ISL season 5 (by which many expect both leagues to have merged).
According to Sports Keeda, a meeting took place between Mohun Bagan and representatives of Red Chillies Entertainment last week, though what it was about is not yet clear.
SRK already has a huge stake in the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), which is soon going to take part in the 10th season of the Indian Premier League.
