Baadshah aka Shah Rukh Khan‘s sister Shenaz shares a really special relationship with him. The Delhi boy was brought up by Shehnaz Lalarukh Khan after they lost their parents at a young age. Even though Shenaz is his real sister, these days, SRK’s sister from his paternal side is gaining all the attention.
SRK’s cousin Noor Jehan is contesting the general elections from Pakistan’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and that has created a lot of buzz on social media.
Shah Rukh‘s family is also very popular on social media and they often make public appearances. Recently, his wife Gauri Khan and daughter Suhana Khan looked party-ready in London and their pics went viral.
Even his youngest son, four-year-old AbRam Khan, always create a storm wherever the duo holiday!
However, fans want to know more about Shah Rukh Khan‘s sister Shehnaz who not only stays with the family since their parent’s demise, but also is an integral part of him.
SRK’s sister has been seen only in a handful of public appearances like award shows or family gatherings. Shehnaz also bonds well with SRK’s alleged ex-girlfriend Priyanka Chopra.
Shenaz Khan is mostly snapped on festivals like Eid, when the entire Khan clan poses for the media at their lavish home ‘Mannat’.
On one ‘rare’ occasion, she was out with her niece Suhana Khan and SRK for a morning bicycle ride like this one:
In 2014, she held the IPL trophy when KKR beat Kings XI Punjab in the finals. She smiled along with SRK and other players.
However, it’s worth noting that more than the few examples above, she doesn’t really make it to the top headlines for any reasons. This is what makes people confused and suspicious too.
Shenaz is a victim of depression and has stayed mentally poor since the loss of her parents. Since her mental health has deteriorated over time, SRK has been taking care of her ever since.
Her absence was even questioned by popular social networking site Quora. Shehnaz, who is six years older to SRK, prefers to stay away from the limelight.
According to the family, “The moment she saw her father’s dead body, she fell unconscious. The tragic incident made her ill very frequently. And soon, she was into depression.”
Did you know that during the shooting of ‘Tujhe dekha toh ye jaana sanam’ from the film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, she was treated in Switzerland for depression!
Describing her as sweet and naive, the superstar once quoted said:
“I see distinct traits of my father and mother in Shehnaz. She has her fits of anger. So I keep telling her, ‘You are just like mummy’. My sister was an outgoing person earlier, but she has become very quiet and reticent after our parents’ demise.”
The bond between these siblings is undeniably special and their father would have never thought that the roles will be reversed when he welcomed his son, superstar Shah Rukh Khan, on November 2, 1965.
