It is very common to see youngsters waving ISIS and Pakistani flags and anti-India sloganeering during rallies and after Friday prayers in Srinagar. But amid all that anti-India rant, there are some who are still in love with India.

Shabroza, a 17-year-old girl from Kashmir showed his love for the country as she hoisted Indian flag at her residence in Budgam.

“I was an Indian, I am an Indian and I will remain an Indian,” said Shabroza who is a class 12 student.

“People tell me that I should take down the Tricolour. But why should I take it down? I am an Indian. Let them threaten me. I am not scared of anyone,” she has said.

Looking at her act, some people in the area have called her to take down the flag, but Shabroza adamantly said that she will not take it down but rather die.

As per the locals, due to this, Shabroza and her family are facing a social boycott.

However, Twitterati came in full support to the girl:

Last year, Ludhiana girl Jhanvi Behal, vowed to hoist the Tricolour at Lal Chowk, but she was sent back as Section 144 was imposed in the city.

It must be noted that in a major recalibration of its policy, the union government has formally signalled its intent to begin a dialogue with all stakeholders to generate a peaceful solution to the problem of Kashmir. As a result, union home minister Rajnath Singh, has appointed former Intelligence Bureau (IB) Director Dineshwar Sharma to be the Centre’s “special representative” in Jammu and Kashmir. The union government’s decision has been welcomed by both sides of the aisle in Jammu and Kashmir.
