Baahubali is one of India’s biggest-grossing movies yet. And just when we thought that Baahubali-mania was waning, there comes a video which shows several Indian school children dancing to the tunes of a hit number from the movie before a NBA match.
A number of schoolchildren recently took over the center stage during a National Basketball Associations’ game in Orlando in USA. These children danced to the tunes of the song ‘Mamta se bhari.’ Dressed in yellow lehengas and golden cholis, the girls danced impeccably providing a glimpse of rich Indian culture.
The video was uploaded on the NBA’s Facebook page on November 21 and since then has been watched over 735,000 times and shared over 790 times. The video is just a minute long. The first part of the movie was released in 2015 and the concluding part was released in 2016. Both the movies set new epic box office records in India and abroad and made the actor, Prabhas, a megastar.
More recently, during another NBA match in Philadelphia, Sikh dancers paid tribute to Allen Ezail Iverson, former American professional basketball player, in a more desi style. Another video posted by NBA at their Facebook page, Punjabi men in their traditional attire are seen doing bhangra. This video already has 63,234 views and thousands of likes.
Well, all we can say is that India is literally turning heads on the global platform. Be it winning Miss India crown, excelling in business and technology or a showcase of our culture, we sure are rockstars!
