You might have heard of people announcing cash rewards, advertising in newspapers and websites and all sorts of things to get their lost pets back, but this story is completely different from those.
The family of Charlie and Theo, two lovely looking miniature schnauzers, got distressed when the two vanished somewhere amidst a thick fog while on a stroll in the hills near Buttermere, Cumbria in England.
Liz and Graham Hampson, owners of the pets, contacted mountain rescue teams, friends and family and launched an intensive rescue campaign, but to no avail. They thought that they wouldn’t ever be able to see their charming pets again, but then the idea of cooking their pet’s favorite food, sausages, struck them.

As a last resort, the family decided to cook sausages at the point Charlie and Theo were last seen. Their owners even camped out the whole night, calling out the names of their darling pets.
The sight of Charlie and Theo, who came running when they smelled their favorite sausages, left their owners thrilled. Soon the couple called family and friends to inform them about their latest joy.
Telegraph quotes Mrs. Hampson saying
When they first appeared it was like a mirage. I could not believe it was them. My husband ran up the hill to grab them as I was just shaking and crying. I could not function. The dogs are just gorgeous, and they are part of our family. It would be horrible not to have them around. They absolutely love sausages. They have them every Sunday for breakfast, so if there was one food they were going to come back for, it was sausages. It’s like the ending of a film that it worked.
