The saree that is touted to be the most expensive saree of the world was made by 36 skilled craftsmen of Kancheepuram with 12 months of hard work. The hand-woven silk saree features 11 paintings of Raja Ravi Varma, the Indian art icon. On the back of the blouse, Lord of Nathdwara has been depicted beautifully.

Having a weight of 8 kilograms, the embroidery in the saree is done with threads of real gold and precious stones such as Diamonds, Emerald, Ruby, Yellow Sapphire, Topaz, Pearl, and Coral have been embedded in it. Wondering what its price is?

 

 

A whopping 40 lakh Rupees!!! According to a report by Bollywood Presents, this price has made this saree get a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Nita Ambani was spotted wearing this saree at the wedding ceremony of Reliance Group’s CEO Parimal Nathwani’s son in 2015. Needless to say, she isn’t expected to repeat it anytime in future as she doesn’t wear the outfit she has worn once!
