FIFA World Cup 2018 is in full swing this year in Russia with the football fans going gaga over the tournament. This year the Football World Cup is grander than ever before which makes this tournament best and worth the watch. While Spain, Argentina, and France are hoping to topple the defending champion Germany, Brazil is looking to bounce back from the mockery in 2014. Even Belgium and Portugal is here playing their best in the tournament.
Well, it is not just the commoners around the world who are fans of this sporting event, but even the prominent celebrities are there, enthusiastically cheering their favorite football teams. We are already aware of the football craze among the Bollywood stars like Ranbir Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan. Apparently, just like there are fans, there are haters as well who don’t appreciate the spirit of a sport. Evidently, even ‘hater’ is also a strong word, right?
Interestingly, there many prominent sports celebrities who are enjoying the FIFA Football World Cup just like their own game. However, there is one former Indian cricketer-turned-commentator who might not have been enjoying this year’s Football tournament like others. That Indian sportsman is none-other-than Sanjay Manjrekar who apparently thinks that this year’s Football World Cup is ‘boring’.
Yes! You read that right! Sanjay Manjrekar took it to his social media account to express his discontent with the football games and said, ‘Is it just me? Barring the odd game, have found the WC football games a little boring. Like the middle overs of ODI cricket matches.’
Here is the tweet:

As expected, his tweet gained the Twitter’s attention and the former batsman became the target of the wrath of netizens. Twitterati are brutally trolling him for his insensitive comment against the Football World Cup 2018.
While some of them are questioning his cricketing skills, there are some tweets suggesting him to stick to cricket and not poke a finger in other sports! Take a look at some of them:
There are all kinds of suggestions!
One advice…Don’t watch football as you do Cricket. Don’t expect fours and Sixes in a game that is much more than that. If you’ll expect a goal every 5 mins there’s no point watching.
Hope it helps
