Sanjay Dutt’s biopic ‘Sanju’ is gearing up for its release. The trailer has already been launched and gives a good sneak peek into the film as well as the life of Sanjay Dutt. It shows Bollywood’s “Sanju Baba” in all his different avatars, and it is expected that the film will depict all the known, as well as unknown aspects of Sanjay Dutt’s personal and professional life. This film is also expected to be one of the finest performances by Ranbir Kapoor. Even Sanjay Dutt himself has praised the trailer saying that he could not believe that a film is being made on his life.
However, as there is still some time for the film to bring out some stunning facets of Sanjay Dutt, in this story, we will tell you one of the worst and most dreadful parts of his life.
It is about the time when Sanjay Dutt was heavily addicted to drugs for about 9 years and was once about to lose his life to this addiction. During his initial days of addiction, he even showed up on film sets stoned. And gradually, he stopped getting work in films.
When he realized that he would not be able to live with this addiction for long, he asked for his father’s help. Then Baba underwent medical treatment in the USA and this was the turning point of his life.
As per a report by Jansatta, Sanjay Dutt revealed how the thought of seeking help from his father came to him. The portal quotes Sanju Baba saying:
“I took my dose of heroin and went to sleep. When I woke up, I was extremely hungry. I saw that it was morning time. I told my househelp to get me something to eat. He looked at me and started to cry. He told me that I had woken up after two days. I saw that everyone at my home was worried. I saw my face in the mirror and felt that I was about to die. At that time, I went to my father and told him that I needed help.”
Thereafter, Sanjay Dutt was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital for three weeks, and then he was sent to a rehabilitation center in the USA. After he got rid of drug addiction, he thought of getting settled in the US only as he got a business offer from someone there.
But his father Sunil Dutt requested him to come back to Bollywood and give his acting career another try. Sunil Dutt even told Sanjay Dutt that he can return to the US if he isn’t able to get a good comeback in a year’s time. Sanjay Dutt agreed to his father and returned to India.
Thereafter, in 1985, ‘Jaan Ki Baazi’ marked his comeback in films and he then appeared in many more successful films throughout the ‘80s.
