Sania Mirza is one of the most celebrated women’s tennis players in India, and her achievements at the international level have always been inspiring. But very often, we see her being trolled for either marrying a Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Malik or for her pregnancy. It is so disturbing to see that just because of her marriage with Shoaib, people have always disregarded her identity of being an Indian. I ask, do her accomplishments for India hold no importance?
On the other side, Sania Mirza has always been a strong, outspoken person, and when someone mocks her identity, she gives them a reply that they can never forget.
We know that relations between India and Pakistan have strained further, but it is unfair to mix politics with individuality. Yesterday, a Twitter user insensitively questioned Sania Mirza about “her” independence day. He was curious to know if she is celebrating her independence on August 14. Given the fact that Independence Day of Pakistan is on August 14.
Happy Independence @MirzaSania Aapka Independence Day Aaj Hai Na

Well, just the way Sania Mirza hits an ace on the tennis court and wins the match point, here, too, she gave a befitting reply that won her respect and destroyed her hater. This is what she said:
Jee nahi.. mera aur mere country ka Independence Day kal hai, aur mere husband aur unnki country ka aaj!! Hope your confusion is cleared !!Waise aapka kab hai?? Since you seem very confused .. https://t.co/JAmyorH0dV

That’s what being a true Indian is, embracing your nationality, rather than questioning other’s identity.
On a personal front, Sania is currently in her last days of pregnancy, and we only wish her child is seen as a human, not as an Indian or Pakistani.
Sania, a proud Indian!
