Two days ago, a letter started doing the rounds of social media. In it, a man called Anoop Kaushik is being threatened with dire consequences supposedly by Samajwadi Party MLA Rakesh Singh.
According to TOI, Kaushik is an Aligarh-based builder and advocate.
He claims that MLA Singh wrote the threatening letter asking him not to pursue cases against two people close to the MLA – Radheylal Bhaiya and Yogesh Bhai.
Kaushik has filed a police complaint and demanded security.

The letter bears a signature, which seems prima facia to be of the MLA. The letter has been written on the minister’s letter pad bearing his name and the logo of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
Kaushik has been threatened that if he doesn’t follow what is being told, he would be “dealt with”.
The UP police has started an inquiry into the case and a report is expected to be submitted soon. The MLA has, however, claimed that the letter has been forged.
But Kaushik, too, has been previously charged with kidnapping.
