Rajjat Barjatya was the MD and CEO of Rajshri Productions; he had been battling cancer and passed away last Friday at a hospital in Mumbai. On Saturday, his funeral took place in Worli, Mumbai.

On Sunday, 31 July, 2016, a prayer meeting was held in Mumbai. It was attended by celebrities like Subhash Ghai, Satish Shah, Raveena Tandon, Sonam Kapoor, and Salman Khan.
On Saturday, as news of the producer’s demise spread on social media, Salman Khan had tweeted: “Rest in peace my brother Rajjat Barjatya.” He also posted a photograph of him with the late producer.
Salman Khan was heartbroken at the death of Rajjat Barjatya, with whom the actor was reported to have a close friendship. He openly cried his heart out at the prayer meeting.
Rajshri Productions and Salman have a long and successful history behind them. Together they gave hits like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!’, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’.
