Bollywood star Salman Khan has been found guilty of killing two blackbucks while on a film shoot in Rajasthan 20 years ago. A penalty for Rs 10,000 has also been levied on him. He was taken to Jodhpur Central jail that currently houses three high-profile inmates Malkhan Singh Vishnoi, Shambhu Lal, and Asaram Bapu.
However, the court acquitted the other accused – Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam, for the lack of evidence.
Salman Khan was in court for the verdict in what is known to be his “lucky” black shirt. His sisters Alvira and Arpita reportedly broke down in tears when the verdict was announced. He might appeal to a higher court for bail.
Salman’s absence from the industry for the next few years will have a direct impact on the film business.
Salman was busy working on his upcoming film “Race 3” and now since he has been found guilty, this can have a direct impact on the business of this film. It is now believed that the film might get stuck in between and could suffer a major loss. Other than this, Salman has different big projects in the pipeline including “Dabangg 3” which was set to release this year, “Kick 2” and “Bharat”.
As per trade analyst Komal Nahta though these films are not big projects when compared to his previous films, the only film in which a good amount of money has been invested is “Race 3” which also stars Anil Kapoor, Jackqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol. The court’s decision has sent shock waves to the industry.
