Sachin is God off the field as well. About three years back, on 13 March, 2013, Uttam Kumar Mohanty, a helpless school headmaster wrote a letter to Sachin, requesting him for funds to reconstruct his school. Back then, Tendulkar was newly appointed as a Parliament member in the upper house.

A year later, on August 7, 2014, Tendulkar sent him a positive reply assuring him of all the assistance for the school. He confirmed Rs 76,21,050 for the Gobindapur Makrampur Swarnamoyee Sasmal Siksha Niketan from his MPLAD fund.

Uttam Kumar was left frustrated after his plea was rejected by Suryakanta Mishra (a five-time MLA) and Prabodh Panda (who was in the House from 2001-14) and one fortunate day, he searched for Sachin’s official email address and asked for help. Rest is history.

The little master has silenced all his critics who doubted his abilities as a politician.

Tendulkar has already funded 75 per cent of the amount and the remaining amount would be provided on production of the utilization certificate, which was recently submitted.

In response to Uttam, Sachin wrote:

Well done, Master Blaster.
