The Indian Army has successfully been able to eliminate 8 terrorists in two separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir. The biggest hunt of these encounters has been Sabzar Bhat, who was appointed to replace Burhan Wani in Hizbul Mujahideen.
Bhat previously escaped from a gunfight in March 2017 with the help of stone-pelters. The Army’s intelligence wing informed them about three terrorists holed up in a 12-room building in Pulwama district’s Tral sector. The operation was carried out by soldiers of the Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles.
All this started when the militants open fired at a patrol party of 42 Rashtriya Rifles at Hardumir. However, they escaped from the spot as soon as the army retaliated. Soon enough, the army cordoned off the area of their hideout and killed two of them. Bhat also carried a reward of Rs.10 lakh on his head.
In another encounter, the security forces at the Line of Control in Rampur sector of Kashmir foiled an infiltration attempt. An army official confirmed NDTV,
