With the formation of the new government in Bihar, a new issue has started a dispute. Sugarcane and minority Welfare Minister Khurshid, alias Feroz Ahmad has apologized after a fatwa was issued against him for chanting “jai shri Ram”.
“If I have to say ‘jai shri Ram’ for people of Bihar, development, harmony, I will never step back from saying it,” he had said, as per a report.
There have been various debates and discussion on various news channels regarding the issue. Zee News conducted a recent debate and called Mufti Aijaz Arshad Qasmi, a leading Islamic scholar in India. News anchor, Rubika Liyaqat, was moderating the debate and asked him some really straightforward questions. However, in no time the debate turned into a heated discussion.
Mufti quoted a few unacceptable sentences towards the news anchor, when she replied and said that it is a news debate not a seminary. As soon as he heard Rubika, he accused her of not adhering to the Islamic guidelines and slammed her for chanting Vande Mataram and jai shri Ram. He thrashed her for being a follower of the “Sangh”.
To this, Rubika replied that she would proudly say “Vande Mataram” and repeatedly mentioned it to prove her point. As the heated argument continued, Mufti was asked to leave the debate. The news woman later shared her opinion by tweeting,
Sir Qasmi has insulted every single woman who refuses to adhere to his fanaticism. https://t.co/d0M9mKFkjU
