The local BJP unit has alleged that it was the work of CPM party workers who came on bike near the Muzhuppilangad beach around 5.30 PM. The police has tightened the security in the area as it has a notorious history of political violence between CPM and BJP-RSS.
BJP said that it is presently carrying out ‘Janaraksha Yatra‘ to protest against the killing and beating up of RSS workers in the southern states. The march was flagged off by Amit Shah on October 3 will conclude on October 17 at Trivandrum. Senior BJP leaders will be in attendance on the concluding day.
There has an unprecedented rise in the murders and beatings of RSS men in Kerala. In 2012, BJP youth wing’s state vice president K.T. Jayakrishnan was killed in an upper primary classroom while teaching and BJP’s former general secretary of Kannur district, Panniyanoor Chandran, was killed while he was riding a motorcycle along with his wife.
In July this year, RSS worker, Rajesh Edavakode died after his hands were chopped off. The man died in the hospital and the police had suspected the hands of CPM workers behind the incident.
