Volunteers of the organisation have been reaching out to victims since morning of April 10. They have actively participated in the rescue and relief efforts along side the Indian Navy, the Air Force and other government organisations.
But this is not the first time RSS workers were spotted helping disaster victims.
Volunteers were previously seen assisting in the rescue and relief efforts during the Kolkata flyover disaster.
And were widely praised for their relief efforts during the 2015 Chennai floods.
Even the Tamil Nadu state government had been criticised for its inaction during the Chennai tragedy, when almost the entire city was submerged in water due to incessant rains that killed almost 500 and left around 1.8 million displaced.
