Rohtak IG Shrikant Jadhav has been suspended for failure to control the Jat agitation.
Media reports say that Jadhav, and two other DSP-rank officers Amit Dahiya and Amit Bhatia, were shunted out because of errors of “omissions and commissions” in handling the situation that turned violent.
But this Hindi newspaper, Navbharat Times, of the Times Group, gives a different twist to the tale – a sensational one.
The headline reads: IG hid inside home after firing during riots; suspended
The Times of India too tells us that Jadhav’s was suspension allegedly because of the same reason. But in this case they also mention how the IG had warned the state government of a possibility of ‘civil war’.
At the same time, PTI reports that the state government has not given any reason behind the decision of suspending the officers.
The TOI doesn’t fail to mention that Jadhav cracked the AIPMT question paper leak some time back in the state and also unearthed a Rs.10,618-crore tax evasion scam.
Sacking f IG Jadhav who correctly warned state of impending Civil War n Haryana creates doubt abt sincerity f govt https://t.co/6cayeaqM3I

Yes, the police failed in handling the situation, but alleging that an officer hid inside his home is a serious one. No doubt the though the Hindi headline is sensational, it is erroneous.
It appears that besides TV, editing too is suffering from TB.
