The match, which was being played in Sri Lanka’s R. Premdasa stadium, had a huge crowd with thousands of Bangladeshi and Indian fans supporting their teams.

Interestingly, there were also thousands of Sri Lankan fans present who had come to support the Indian team as they were unhappy at how the Bangladeshis team had behaved after defeating Sri Lankan team in the previous match.

Thanks to Dinesh Kartik’s amazing batting the Indian team clinched victory on the very last ball and won the Nidahas trophy.

Soon after winning the match, as is the practice, the Indian team was seen taking a victory lap of the stadium, but what many noticed was that instead of carrying the Indian tri-colour, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had the Sri Lankan flag along with him.

The small gesture not only made the Indian fans proud of their team but also increased their respect in the hearts of every Sri Lankan who was present there.

The small gesture was as a sign of thanks to Sri Lanka for the wonderful support that they showed towards team India.

DK, who was named the Man of the match, also thanked the Sri Lankan fans for the love and support and during the presentation ceremony.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also didn’t forget to thank every Sri Lankan supporter who came to back the Indian cricket team in the final. He said,
