In a strange turn of events, a rickshaw puller in Bihar was seen offering free rides to all his riders. When asked about the reason behind it, he declared himself to be a great fan of Nitish Kumar and it is the latter’s big win in making the government of Bihar that urged him to offer free rides to all his passengers.
Now, this is not the first time fans have gone to such bizarre extents to express their happiness for an accolade won by their role-models. However, in this age of scams and dirty politics, it is not everyday that we come across such a person who loves and respects one particular politician wholeheartedly.
A resident of Churamanpatti, Ward no. 02 in Naya Tola, Indrajit Sha started this offer a few days back as soon as Nitish Kumar took up his job as the Chief Minister of the state for the second time. He offered free rides to riders till July 31. And that is not the entire thing. This crazy fan of Nitish Kumar was so smitten by a photograph of the Chief Minister that he hired two other rickshaws and started offering free rides on those as well. For this, he had to spend around Rs 200-250 on each of the hired rickshaws per day. Yet, this did not let Sha down. He also put a placard on his rickshaw that read “Free rides to all – especially to the needy, handicaps and elderly”.
On communicating with Indrajit, it was known that he has one request for his idol – to eliminate the evil called “dowry” from society. He is of the view that Kumar has indeed done a lot for the poor and for society as a whole during his stint as chief minister. He credits Kumar for the excellent approach on banning liquor.
Despite being a poor rickshaw puller, Indrajit’s zeal to offer free rides to all for a few days is indeed commendable. We hope that his belief in Nitish Kumar is strengthened all the more through better governance in Bihar.
