Richa Chadha is one Bollywood actress who is known for being blunt and outspoken on social media. She has always put her stance forward, without thinking much about whether the social media would like it or not. This has had the actress embroiled in a number of controversies, be it for supporting choreographer Saroj Khan’s point of view on casting couch or being targeted by social media with obscene remarks. She did something similar earlier this week which had left a section of social media enraged.
In her tweet, Richa had said that Hinduism in India faces a threat from Hindutvavadis and the country needs to drive them back to protect Hinduism. Take a look at her tweet below:
हाँ है भारत में हिन्दू घर्म को ख़तरा।हिंदू धर्म को ख़तरा है हिन्दुत्ववादियों से। धर्म बचाओ,हिन्दुत्ववादियों को भगाओ। जनहित में जारी।

What had been labelled by Richa Chadha as a “public interest notice” left a section of Twitter users furious, which was much expected. These users came up with all sorts of repulsive comments. Check out some of these below:
फिल्मों में रोल की भीख मांगने के लिए दुष्कर्म के नाम पर हिन्दुओं के धर्मस्थलों को बदनाम करने वालों को भगाओ, हिन्दू धर्म और देश को बचाओ ।
— Yash Sharma(यश शर्मा) (@TheSharmaYash) May 5, 2018

But there were some users who crossed the line and went ahead to threaten the actress of rape and murder. The tweets are not available now as the page has been suspended by Twitter but their screenshots can be seen below:
Since Richa Chadha is not one among those who would have stepped back or sit quietly after these threats, she fired back at the Twitter user going by the name Adv Vivek Garg (@PrinceOfAgroha) with the following tweet:
Hey tweeps!Don’t care about the targeted abuse because there’s a lot of unemployment in the country rn,if someone needs to work for ₹10 per tweet,I don’t judge them. But RAPE AND MURDER threats?Come on @TwitterIndia @Twitter pic.twitter.com/1AS8wlUPWg
— TheRichaChadha (@RichaChadha) May 9, 2018
Soon after Richa tweeted this, a number of Twitter users, including many celebrities joined the actress for teaching Adv Vivek Garg (@PrinceOfAgroha) a good lesson. Here are the tweets by some of these social media users:
Mam not only Power minister but Piyush Goyal also follows him !! So he is a influential person… pic.twitter.com/RA7Ewb93Wd

You must report this. Twitter needs to take responsibility for this. They cannot provide a platform to people who openly threaten to rape and maim women.
— Pooja Bhatt (@PoojaB1972) May 9, 2018
How do people who take pride in writing ‘communal’ and ‘hater’ in their bio live with themselves…. Reporting….
— Shahnawaz Khan (@shahnawazk) May 9, 2018
The thing that is disturbing me the most is the picture of netaji in his profile. He was against everything he has written at the beginning in his profile. So I guess netaji will also be deciphered as a Hindu nationalist soon by these hatemongers.
