Twitter’s  controversy king Ram Gopal Varma, on April 23, took a dig at the National Film Awards and said that a person like Aamir Khans skipping this awards along with all the other award events points towards its relevance.

Calling Amir the greatest filmmaker in India, RGV added that he “doesn’t care to be measured by any Indian award committee including National (Film Awards)…speaks about those events.”

Earlier this month, the 64th National Film Awards panel had given the Best Actor honor to Akshay Kumar for the movie ‘Rustom’ and had left movies like ‘Dangal’ and ‘Aligarh’ out.

Though Dangal girl Zaira Wasim was named as the Best Supporting Actress, the fact that the two movies were not considered for best movie and best actor category had left many wondering.

Many reports had later indicated that the reason ‘Dangal’ was not taken into consideration was because Aamir doesn’t attend any award functions and thus there was no point in awarding him.

RGV, who is known to be trolled for his controversial tweets, has now divided Twitterati with his views.

While there are many who support him on the National Award point,

…There are still others who can’t help but troll him as even Amir has not commented on this matter.
