After Bollywood’s senior choreographer Saroj Khan landed in controversy by defending casting couch, Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury speaks up saying that it prevails in every workplace.
ANI tweeted her comment, it’s about time India raises their voice and stand up to “Me Too” movement. It’s a movement against sexual harassment and assault. This is what she said:
It is not just in the film industry. It happens everywhere & it is the bitter truth. Don’t imagine that Parliament is immune or other work places are immune to it. It is time that India stood up & said ‘Me Too’: Renuka Chowdhary, Congress on Saroj Khan’s remark on Casting couch. pic.twitter.com/bDekV48xEB

The Tweeple were quick to react to this comment. Though most supported her, some went on to hint that she is probably speaking about the existence of the same practice within Congress party. Here are some of the reactions:
May be she is talking about Rahul Gandhi-Sukanya Devi episodeAdvertisement

Is Renuka Ji hinting at the workings in Congress (I)? Not long ago Mahila Congress members did go public with allegations on Male Congressmen pic.twitter.com/ntAHW3dNSQ

What Renuka Chaudhary is saying has already been said by the leaders of her party. Her statement today only substantiates it. Good that she has finally come out with the way @INCIndia functions. pic.twitter.com/MT8iijTDvT

Nobody can give others opinion. What she is hinting may be of her own experience within Congress party. Remember she was made RS MP even after losing poll and has no value addition for party may be her own experience in Congress party.

There were also those who were not ready to agree with her comment. Here’s what they said:
What is she blabbing ya? No one gives u a “job” or “opportunity” to become a member of Parliament. Is she talking about Parties?

Ask her why she remain mum with holding public portfolio as a member of parliament or she just feel that the need to stood against this arises now or say during bjp tenure?.
There is a lot to say such hypocrite but as they felt shamed they will wear cap of feminism.
