It is a widely known fact that people struggling in Bollywood to make a career for themselves actually struggle quite hard so that they can be successful and famous. But only a few of the successful people from the industry, be they actors, directors or producers have come out in open about what all they did in their struggling period.
Recently, during a television show, a hotshot director of Bollywood shared the story of his struggle period. He told the world that about 20 years from now, he did many odd jobs at the sets of Bollywood films. This director who is now known as one of the most successful comedy film director and is renowned for action packed sequences in his films once used to iron Tabu’s sarees during the shooting of film Haqeeqat in 1995.
During a point of time in his early career, this director was also tasked with touching-up Kajol’s hair and make-up. And now, this 44-year old man has already given more than 10 hit films including ‘Golmaal’ series, ‘Singham’ series, ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Dilwale’. He has also judged ‘Comedy Circus’ a comedy show on television, hosted three seasons of show ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and is presently judging an ongoing television show.
No prizes for guessing, he is none other than Rohit Shetty. Recently, on the television reality show ‘India’s Next Superstars’, the director talked about the period when he worked as a spot boy, revealing all the jobs he used to do back then. He went on to say that the way one behaves with people when he/she is in power makes him/her a better person. And this is the reason he always respects and helps people who work under him on the sets, especially spot boys.
In early days of his career, apart from the tasks mentioned above, Rohit Shetty worked as assistant director for many of Ajay Devgn’s films such as ‘Phool aur Kaante’, ‘Suhaag’, ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’ and many more. Now the director is known for his action and comedy films earning hundreds of crores at the box office. And he has directed Kajol in ‘Diwaale’, Tabu in ‘Golmaal Again’ and Ajay Devgn in a number of films including ‘Singham’ series.
