How many times have you heard the phrase ‘India’s unity is in its diversity’? If we shift our focus in the present scenario, then the only thing that is unifying India is intolerance. Especially, when it is about religion! It won’t be wrong to say that there are fanatics in both Hinduism and Islam, who sees nothing else than trying and proving which religion is better than the other. And, that is absurd!
There are instances that often make us lose faith in humanity. It makes us wonder how can people try and differentiate themselves in name of religion.
Thankfully, there are incidents that happen around the nation which reminds us of the fact that humanity or human connection is the thing that always comes before religion. Such is the story of this Muslim family which is taking care of a Hindu temple for generations.
It’s a heartwarming story, to say the least. There is a Muslim family residing in Guwahati, Assam. They have been taking care of a Shiva temple for about 500 years. Yes, generations after generations have devoted themselves to protect such a place that belongs to some other religion.
The idols of Lord Shiva are kept below a tree. As you might have guessed the tree is a banyan tree, the one that is considered to be sacred in Hinduism. Both Hindus and Muslims gather to the place to pay their respects. The images of the temple got circulated and they are worth a view:
Assam: A Muslim family looks after a Shiva temple for last 500-year in Rangamahal village, Guwahati. The caretaker Matibar Rehman says,’ It’s a 500-year-old temple, our family looks after the temple. People from both the religions- Hindu and Muslim- come here to offer prayers.’ pic.twitter.com/6HZTGtPhAy

This is real the actual example culture/religion #India is/was known for. But, today everything is missing, we are just fighting to justify ourselves we/I are/am correct.

This is what religion actually teaches us. It teaches us to accept everyone to create a better life. What do you think? Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments.
